Design at Kensington Design House begins with structure.
Before finishes or furnishings are considered, we study layout, circulation, and light. By understanding how a home moves, where light falls, and how people live within it, decisions follow with clarity rather than guesswork.
That perspective guides our work, whether we are rethinking an existing space, planning a renovation, or shaping a new home.
Once the structure is resolved, materials and furnishings are introduced with restraint. We focus on proportion and pieces meant to live well over time.
The goal is not simply a beautiful room, but a home that supports real life.
Design & Architectural Consultation
We approach every consultation as a conversation about how you live.
Before we consider finishes or furnishings, we study the structure of the home. Layout, circulation, light, air, proportion, and the way rooms connect help us understand what is working and where the space may be creating friction.
Many homes feel unresolved not because of decoration, but because the underlying conditions are working against daily life.
For clients who want a deeper review before beginning a larger project, we offer The Home Environment Study, a design-led review of the less visible conditions shaping comfort and ease, from natural light and airflow to acoustics, materials, rest, movement, and daily rhythm.
Informed by established wellness frameworks, including WELL principles, this study helps clarify how the home is supporting the body, where it may be creating strain, and what should be addressed before design decisions begin.
You leave with a clearer understanding of what needs to change, and why.
Interior & Spatial Design
Once the structure is understood, interiors take shape with intention.
From kitchens and baths to whole-home environments, we design spaces that feel balanced, calm, and easy to live in. Materials, furnishings, lighting, and details are considered in relation to the architecture of the home, not apart from it.
The result is a home that supports how you live.
Curated Living
Alongside our design work, we introduce a small collection of objects chosen with the same care we bring to each space.
Rather than viewing pieces in isolation, we experience them within designed environments where scale, material, light, and daily use can be understood in context.
Each piece is selected for how it lives within a room.
