Kensington Design House About Us
Kensington Design House is a Charleston based interior design and architecture studio.
We design homes where architecture and interiors shape how a space functions, flows, and feels over time.
We are a husband and wife team who have spent years designing and building spaces together, bringing interiors and architecture into one system. Our work is grounded in how people live and how a home needs to support them over time.
Meet Kensington Design House
Elizabeth and Rich Landry share why we created KDH and why we begin with the experience of living in a home, not simply how it looks.
Kensington Design House brings interiors, architecture and an evidence informed understanding of human experience together to create homes that support the way people live.
Our approach is informed by Science in Design® certification and ongoing study of how the built environment can influence human experience and wellbeing.
Like many of our clients, we have designed our own homes through different stages of life, from young children and busy family years to the quieter shift of an empty nest. Those experiences shape how we think about space and what makes a home work.
That perspective carries through everything we do. We study how people move through a home, how light changes a space, and how materials and objects come together to create something that feels settled and lasting.
We approach each project as a complete system, where structure, light, material and daily life are considered together.
Our thinking is also informed by specialists whose expertise expands how we understand the relationship between people, place and wellbeing. Meet our collaborators →
What began as something personal has grown into a studio grounded in that same way of thinking.
At KDH, our work is centered on creating spaces that feel calm, grounded and built for the way people actually live.
