Kensington Design House Is Officially Open

The day has finally come.

Kensington Design House is officially open in Charleston.

Founded by husband-and-wife team Rich and Elizabeth Landry, the studio brings architecture and interiors together through a shared interest in how homes shape comfort, connection, daily routines, and wellbeing over time.

Kensington Design House grew from years of designing and renovating homes together, but also from a deeply personal understanding of what it means to need a home to provide calm, retreat, and support during demanding seasons of life.

The studio works with clients considering renovations, kitchens and baths, whole-home design, spatial changes, and homes that need to evolve with a new stage of life.

Introducing the Home Environment Study

Alongside its architecture and interiors work, Kensington Design House is introducing the Home Environment Study.

The Home Environment Study is an architect-led review of the physical and sensory conditions shaping how a home feels and functions before design solutions are proposed.

The study considers natural light, airflow, sound, thermal comfort, materials, movement, rest, visual complexity, privacy, daily routines, connection to nature, and the ability of a home to adapt as life changes.

It was created to help homeowners identify the strengths already supporting daily life, understand where friction may be occurring, and establish a more informed foundation for future design decisions.

About Kensington Design House

Kensington Design House is a Charleston-based architecture and interiors studio founded by Elizabeth and Rich Landry.

The studio approaches architecture and interiors as one coordinated process. Its work considers how layout, light, airflow, sound, movement, materials, nature, privacy, and changing life stages influence the experience of home.

Each project is viewed through five complementary lenses: structure, feeling, decision, longevity, and curation.

The result is a design process grounded in comfort, clarity, function, beauty, and how people actually live.
